Syncro-Cushion Coil Spring Drives

Combining the advantages of natural frequency vibratory action with a rugged drive and trough connection, the General Kinematics Syncro-Cushion coil spring drive offers exceptional performance in high load or adverse operating conditions.

Coil spring equipped Syncro-Cushion  drive eliminates the fatigue and heat decay problems of compressive rubber block trough connections. The high alloy, low stress springs are matched to the conveyor application so that they absorb out-of-phase forces during startup and stopping.

The flexible coil spring trough connection permits shaft oscillating action to fully synchronize with the natural frequency of the reactor spring system, minimizing motor starting torque requirements and eliminating high stress concentration in both drive components and trough connection.

The drive shaft, a solid piece of alloy steel with an integrally machined eccentric, operates with heavy-duty, anti-friction, self-aligning bearings. Connecting arms are engineered to permit shaft and bearing removal without disassembling the entire drive system.

Simplified design, with fewer parts, and the convenience of single point, piped lubrication to all bearings, eases maintenance.
