Mixed Metal Sorting Systems

MIxed Metal Sorting Systems

In today’s recycling environment, achieving high metal purity is more critical than ever. As regulatory standards tighten and commodity prices fluctuate, facilities must rely on dependable industrial sorting systems to maximize material recovery and meet downstream quality requirements. General Kinematics’ Mixed Metal Sorting Systems are engineered to deliver consistent material flow and optimal presentation. These two essential factors directly impact the performance of the separators used in non-ferrous separation.

While advanced technologies like XRF or optical sorters are often employed for detailed elemental identification and fraction separation, their accuracy depends heavily on the uniformity and stability of material presentation. That’s where GK’s vibratory equipment excels. By creating evenly distributed material flow that enhances sensor precision, reduces manual sorting fatigue, and drives overall system efficiency.

General Kinematics Mixed Metal Sorting Systems incorporates a tote dumper and vibratory metering feeder working in conjunction with a sorting conveyor. GK’s patented Flat Stroke Sorting Conveyor, reduces worker fatigue associated with noise and vibration in common transfer conveyors. This sorting conveyor is specifically designed with minimal vertical stroke for quieter operation while still conveying into multiple lanes. Material is loaded into the hopper and evenly metered to the sorting conveyor where workers are able to utilize the conveyor lanes to organize material types. Our systems create a better working environment for employees and better recovery of mixed metals.

Features:

  • Custom designed to fit your current tote configurations.
  • Operator controlled metering feeder.
  • Multiple lane configurations available per application.
  • Gentle shuffle action of material for reduced worker fatigue.
