COVID-19: A Message from the President

 by Tom Musschoot,

UPDATE 11/13/2020:General Kinematics Corporation continues all operations.  As worldwide coronavirus cases increase, we are closely monitoring the information being released from Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker’s office. As an essential business General Kinematics continues to operate, meeting all customer timelines. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption or change in our ability to meet customer demand.  Our internal health and safety practices remain in full effect. We have not let up in our pursuit of keeping the transmission of the coronavirus at bay as the safety of our employees and their families is the ultimate priority. We continue to monitor the daily news briefings from the Governor’s office and will provide further updates to any change in the status quo.

UPDATE 4/28/2020: General Kinematics Corporation is Open. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker has extended the state’s “Stay at Home” through the end of May. While full details have not been released, what appears clear is we will continue to service our customers without delays. From the onset of this global pandemic, our employees have made it their priority not to let a single shipment be delayed. Thus far we are meeting that lofty goal. In some cases, our customers have asked us to hold completed units due to restrictions or delays at their location. We are committed to working through this crisis together and will continue to keep our employee’s safety our top priority. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.

UPDATE 4/2/2020: General Kinematics Corporation remains open. Following Governor Pritzker’s announcement that the “Shelter in Place” order will stay in effect through April 30th, General Kinematics offices continue to work from home while manufacturing remains open following strict social distancing guidelines. Orders remain on schedule, and Field Service remains available for equipment maintenance and installations. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

UPDATE 3/21/2020: General Kinematics is classified by the Illinois Governor’s office under section 12-T of the order as an essential service, so we remain open during the Illinois shelter in place order. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your GK representative.

We greatly appreciate the trust you have shown in GK by allowing us to design and build your current project. At this moment, we do not foresee any delays in the completion or installation of current or future orders. Due to the nature of our global supply chain and regional based production, our processes have remained largely unaffected by the recent pandemic. Without sacrificing our commitment to the health and safety of our workforce, we have been able to keep our shipments on-time.

Our Field Service team remains active and plans to continue performing maintenance and installation as scheduled and wherever customer policy allows. All remote employees have been educated on the safety precautions advised by the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as we aim to keep our customer and employee’s health a top priority.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep GK customers informed of any changes.

Thank you,

Thomas Musschoot | President
