Llambeck By-Pass Bin

 by General Kinematics,

A Large Platinum Mine in the Rustenburg area had a By-Pass Bin System used when the Plant was not in operation. Two main conveyors running in parallel, 2 m apart, could not be fed by two Brute Force Feeders with the correct tonnage. One of the feeders had a starvation problem due to incorrect Bin Design and material flowability issues, which was causing other problems down the line. With the current loading design, the Bin was only filled to about 30% capacity.

Llambec redesigned the Bin and installed two Kinetic 1200 Vibrator Feeders at 90° to ensure that both belt conveyors receive equal feed. Installed three years ago, the system has increased capacity to specification, and the loading Bin capacity is at maximum. Both Kinetic Feeders are 1200 wide by 3500 long and driven by a single 4.0 kW Vibrator Motor.
