An Eastern European foundry, a company with a vision that parallels that of General Kinematics, who places innovation and development at the forefront of every process was faced with the challenge of replacing a drum that had been jamming and causing them downtime issues. Things had gone from bad to worse when they were forced to station someone near the drum to monitor jamming for the entirety of the runtime.

The foundry learned about the benefits that General Kinematics could bring to the table with the DUCTA-CLEAN® Rotary Media Drum such as cleaner castings and reduced downtime as well as improved sand removal. After seeing the benefits at their other location, the foundry decided to install one in their European process.

After installing the General Kinematics DUCTA-CLEAN® Rotary Media Drum and a few minor tweaks, the drum has been running smoothly. The foundry reported that they no longer need any supervision for the new drum. “It’s easier to maintain, replace or repair the main elements,” said the foundry manager. “Compared with the previous media drum solution I prefer GK because it is an easier and a more logical solution.” He also said the General Kinematics team is easier to reach and he has enjoyed the prompt response to any questions. At the end of his interview, he remarked: “I would recommend GK, or use GK!”.
