Technology

The trough feeder operates by activating its unbalanced mass motor. The mode of vibration of the trough can be influenced within wide limits by design, arrangement, and quantity of drives.

Depending on its application, CYRUS vibrating feeders with unbalanced drives can use one of several different types of drives:

  • Vibration motor
  • Circular drive
  • Cell drive
  • Straightening exciter

We design our vibrating feeders to operate continuously. The hardy welded and screwed vibration-resistant design is typically made from S235JR grade steel. If you are going to be transporting abrasive materials, we offer the option to use wear-resistant steel as well.

APPLICATIONS

Vibrating feeders with unbalanced drives are an excellent choice in any operation where bulk materials are conveyed over shorter distances. CYRUS’ Vibrating Trough Feeders can be designed in a trough shape or a contained tube depending on the application. 

Typical areas of application include:

  • Discharge of bulk material from bunkers and silos
  • Charging of crushers, mixing machines, furnaces, weighing machines, screening machines, etc.
  • Conveying of foundry sand from cast/sand separation to sand preparation
  • Discharge of metal scrap under shredder and behind scrap shears
  • Feeding to magnetic drums for separating metallic parts during material flow
  • Material transport in processing and sorting plants

Connecting multiple of our vibrating feeders can help overcome long conveying distances. However, if you want to avoid transfer points and need a longer conveying length, we suggest using our vibrating feeders with slider-crank drive. These feeders can be custom-designed in lengths up to 50 meters.
