FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: GK SYSTEMS Partners with Ford Meter Box Company on new Three Hundred Thousand Square Foot Facility.

Today, July 18th, 2023, EPC Firm GK SYSTEMS announces a partnership with waterworks product manufacturer Ford Meter Box Company. Founded in 1898, Ford Meter Box launched an engineering study to gauge the feasibility of building a new state-of-the-art foundry and office facility in April of 2022. The partnership is in full swing with Ford Meter Box’s announcement that it will build their new foundry in Wabash, Indiana.

GK Systems was chosen to be the principal design firm due to the company’s reputation for quality, innovation, and attention to detail.

“As Ford Meter Box looks to add capacity and flexibility to its foundry operations, and more importantly, modernize its facilities for the long term, we appreciate the industry knowledge and experience that General Kinematics brings to the table”, commented Ford Meter Box Company president Steve Ford.

The two companies have worked extensively to conceive a world-class three hundred thousand square foot brass metalcasting facility, utilizing the latest automation and innovative foundry equipment design. The $250 – $300 million dollar investment will support a substantial increase in brass production while allowing room for future production lines.

3rd Generation & CEO of GK Systems, Tom Musschoot, commented on the opportunity, “Being selected as a partner by Ford Meter Box is a true honor. Our shared values of family and community drive our businesses. We both strive to uphold the highest standards while delivering quality products, making the opportunity an even greater privilege. “

GK SYSTEMS and Ford Meter Box Company continue collaborating on the design as the project progresses. Both companies are excited to see their hard work produce the next generation in foundry system design.
